I am a storyteller, empowering, curating, and sharing stories.

My name is Karen Bryant and as a photographer I specialise in the timeless quality of black and white images, though colour is always an option. I have a passion for capturing people’s personalities and authentic special moments in people’s lives.  Everyone has a story to tell and memories and achievements to share.

I am available for portraits (including pet photography), and arts & event photography, either in South Australia or in Victoria (Spending approx. 50% of my time in each). Videography and drone photography are also available. I have a studio based in Bridgewater in the Adelaide Hills.

In addition to my photographic work I am also an arts curator/arts manager with over 30 years experience. I am currently Creative Director and Chief Executive at Midsumma Festival https://www.midsumma.org.au Through this work I have been a recipient of Deloitte's 50 Most Influential LGBTQIA+ Leaders 2020 to 2022 (national) and in 2025 was named as LGBTQIA+ Cultural Festival Leader of the Year by Acquisition International (based in London) as part of their Influential Businesswomen Awards 2025.

I am a regular public speaker on a range of topics across various corporate industries.  I have worked in the arts nationally, with experience and networks built as a performer, director, Artistic Director, programmer, producer, and venue manager. I have previously been Chief Executive at the Adelaide International Festival of Arts and Associate Director & Head of Programming at the Adelaide Festival Centre.
